Windows 8 goes from boot-up to browsing before Mac OS can even show the log-in screen (video)

YouTube user ignyt47 has uploaded this video showing an Acer Aspire 1825PT 11.6in convertible tabletPC with a Core2Duo processor booting up to a usable state in less time than it took for the Apple MacBook Pro to even get to the log-in screen.
We suspect OEMs will start pushing touch screens as a way to increase margins on laptops pretty hard, and with Windows 8 as the OS buyers will finally have a reason to pay the premium.  Likely non-touch screen PCs will be a dying breed in 2 years.

I think it is safe to say while Apple has been trading on their image for a while, the brand will lose its cachet somewhat when it is embarrassed every day by much more nimble Windows 8 laptops.
